Your birth experience matters, it’s a profound life altering event that deserves to cherished and supported with doula care.
A doula is a trained professional who provides non-medical, continuous physical, emotional & educational support.
Nurturing both the birthing person and their partner. This care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum helps them achieve a healthy, memorable, and satisfying birth experience. I am passionate about providing non-judgmental, loving, physical, emotional, and informational support as well as birth advocacy. This is your birth and I’d like to support and guide you as you welcome your new baby and grow as a family.
Why Hire a Doula? We are more than just hip squeezes!
Education, information, and emotional support right beside you as you give birth. During prenatal visits, we talk about your hopes and dreams for your birth but I also give you lots of information and education surrounding birth. During labor, it's important to let go of your thinking brain and tap into your intuitive side, you and your body innately know how to birth.
Having a doula there allows you to let go and if you have questions during the process I can answer them and remind you of your options. I never make decisions for you but can help along the way.
Supporting your partner so that they can best support you.
I don’t take the place of your partner during birth, I help them to care for you in the best way possible. Sometimes they provide physical support and your doula does more emotional support or vice versa, or a doula can help coach a partner to do all of that. Helping to facilitate communication between medical providers and the birthing family, I don’t speak on your behalf but remind you of your birth wishes so you can communicate those to your care providers as the process unfolds. Research shows that doulas improve births.
